The sounds of gently flowing water or the splashing sounds of cascading water not only are fascinating to watch, but are great tools for destressing. Today we are all faced with a great deal of stress with the economy in a slump, gas prices, hours cut, etc. We would all benefit from a little destressing. Fountains are a great way to do just that!

Water Park

On a day like today, just the thought or sounds of water cascading makes it seem cooler! Makes you almost want to be a kid again so you can run through the water of a regular garden hose, but a trip to a water park would be even better.

The power source was sometimes a steam engine but in modern gardens it is almost always electricity. These advantages include environmental benefits, no mains electricity in the garden, and free energy.A modern famous example is the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain.Modern water features are often self-contained, meaning that they do not require water to be plumbed in; water is recycled from a hidden reservoir, also known as a sump. The sump can either be contained within the water feature, or buried underground (in the case of an outdoor water feature).
A water feature may be indoor or outdoor and can be any size, from a desk top water fountain to a large indoor waterfall that covers an entire wall in a large commercial building, and can be made from any number of materials, including stone, granite, stainless steel, resin, and glass.

De-Stressing

What has been stressing you? Your job, co workers, perhaps the drive home? In any event, I'm sure you are ready to relax and de-stress. I have found that one of the quickest ways to "unwind" and begin de-stressing is to grab a cold drink and head for the backyard. This is my private sancutary! Here I can gather my thoughts and put things in their proper perspective.
Just looking at the flowers, the birds and the watching the water as it flows, splashing into the pond below. Here there is the serenity that I have been yearning for. The sound of the splashing water is mesmerizing and is very comforting. How do you de-stress?

Wow. This is heavenly!! It is so nice to wake up with the sun shining and the birds singing. To take my cup of coffee and sit out on the patio. I can see the the spring flowers blooming and take in the sights and sounds of nature as I contemplate what will be happening today. How relaxing this is.The sounds of the garden water fountain splashing, and watching the birds take a dip the cool off or clean up whatever the case may be. Does this sound like a plan or what?

Ponds and Fountains

Do you have a large space for a backyard water fountain? or a small space? or maybe not any ground space? You know it really doesn't matter. Fountains today come in all sorts of sizes and styles. You can set them in the ground, on a table or ledge or even on the side of your house, garage or outbuilding.
Just pick a spot, select your fountain and you're ready to get started. You don't need to plumb them as they come with a small pump to circulate the water. Just plug them in and you are done.

With all the cold weather that we have been having the backkyard looks like a frozen fairy land. And with the recent freezing rain we had everything is ice. But what splendor it is!! It is beautiful to say the least.
The running water is frozen in time and space, arched as if it were meant to be a bridge in time.

Water fountains date back to the ancient middle east where they were depicted on the tombs of the Eygptians . General seen in courtyards that were tree lined.
Today many building sites for companies display a vast pond with fountains. Running water it seems has always fascinated human kind. I suppose it is because of its aesthic properties.

PROSPERITY FOUNTAIN

I love the sound of running water. One of my favorite fountains is the Prosperity Fountain, symbolizing wealth and fertility.
Today fountains are easily attainable, so just about everyone can own one. They are easy to maintain, and many are self contained (meaning they don't need to be plumbed).
